How do you feel after the final in Estonia?

I’m very proud, and I’m really, really thankful for all this support. I hope that I can make Estonia proud – and to give a great present for our 100-year jubilee!

How did you decide to take part in the Estonian National Final?

Last year I hosted the Eesti Laul semi-finals and I thought then that maybe I could bring something different to the show, but I didn’t know what. Then during summer I met Mihkel Mattisen and Timo Vendt and they thought it might be nice to do some interesting music together. They wrote the song and then me and my friend Ksenia wrote the lyrics and we sent the song to Eesti Laul, and you know the rest!

You won both the jury vote and the televote of Eesti Laul. What does this big support from everybody mean to you?

I am very grateful. To feel that people are supporting you and love what you are doing, that they get the message of your song and that it touches people’s souls and hearts, it’s amazing and I am grateful and happy.

Tell us more about your song. What is its message?

„La Forza“ is about real love that enlightens our way, gives us wings, takes us to the sky and gives us a real power so that we can even move mountains. It’s about universal love – love for children, love for parents, love for nature. It’s all these kinds of love.

Why did you decide to sing it in Italian?

Because the Italian language is beautiful and melodic and it goes well with classical singing, I think that Italian is very poetic. Also Ksenia and I both speak Italian – so that’s why we chose it!

This type of music is very rare at Eurovision. Do you think being so different will help you in the competition?

Yes, I think it is always better to stand out.

When did you start watching Eurovision? Do you have any favourite sings and artists?

I cannot remember the exact year but I think I must have been 10 or so. One year I bought a cassette and my friends and I learned all the songs by heart. I will have to try and find that cassette!

Right now you are one of the favourites to win. How does this make you feel?

I don’t feel any pressure – I just want to do my best. I am a professional singer, so this is my work. This is what I do every day, I sing and I’m an artist and I do it always with all my love and passion. So, I will do my best and I will give all my love to the audience – I am already collecting the love from all over Europe!

What do you want to achieve in Portugal? What is your goal?

I think the most important thing is for me to perform with my heart and soul. I hope that this will evoke great emotions from the audience, and awake something in the souls of the audience – and of course I aim to do my best!

Did you hear any of the other countries’ songs? If yes, which ones and what do you think about them? Which participants seem the most interesting to you?

So far, I have only heard each song once, but my favourites are from Georgia and Denmark. I love the voices of Iriao and think they sound beautiful and I think Rasmussen’s Viking anthem is really cool.
