Kaliopi Bukle, known professionally as Kaliopi, is a Macedonian singer. She is one of the most famous female singers in Bulgaria’s southwestern neighbor. She is often called the queen of the Macedonian pop music. Her first performance on the stage of the Eurovision Song Contest was in 2012. Her song "Crno i belo" was placed thirteenth in the final in Baku. This year she returned to represent her homeland in Stockholm. She is currently in the studio to record her song. Speaking especially for our website Kaliopi said how it feels to be part of the favorite song contest of Europe.
– What is it like to be back on the adventure called Eurovision?
– To be an adventurer in the most adventurous music event in the world called Eurovision is an amazing feeling! One thing is certain – I am joyful as a little kid and so happy that I am able to meet again all my friends who are part of ESC!
– What is different about Kaliopi – today from Kaliopi four years ago?
– My smile is more beautiful now, and I smile even more! Basicaly, there haven't been many changes, but as any other person – thorugh life I’ve learned how to change some bad habits that distance me from the essence!
– What are you going to present to us? Anything new and different from you?
– I still love to surprise people and embrace them with my music. In our musical workshop (and when I say "our" I mean – Romeo Grill and myself) there are no tactis, adjustments, we don't flirt with styles. Our music has always been – authentical, it followed and follows only our inner feeling. The most important thing is that we love what we create, and we enjoy working process. Throughout long music experience it proved to be the most correct way to give the audience something true and worthwhile.
– Have you thought about what would be your performance? Do you want something special?
– There is nothing more special than – emotions. I don't know why, but everytime I imagine myself on ESC stage – my eyes are closed. That means that during those 3 minutes I wish to share my emotions and dream awake with the audience. I think that with the song that I will present at this years ESC I will be able to turn those 3 minutes into eternity.
– We know you’re working in the studio right now. Can you tell us something about the song you’re working on or do you want it to be a surprise for us?
– I will let you be curious just a little bit more… and in that way my surprise will be much bigger and sweeter! In the beggining of March via special TV show programe I will present my song for ESC and it will be, of course, broadcasted on Macedonian Radio Television. After that I want to hear from you what do you thing about my song!
