Sanja Vučić is from Kruševac, Serbia. Since she was a child, Sanja has been expressing talent for music. She is best known for being the lead vocalist of the Serbian band ZAA and will represent Serbia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with song "Goodbye". What she said specifically to our website read here:
– How do you feel about representing Serbia at Eurovision?
– Firstly, it is surely a great honor, such a competition as Eurovision has a long and proud history of wonderful songs and performers, and I am amazed and thrilled to be a part of it. And there is no doubt that I will give my all to make Serbia proud of our performance.
– Do you have a favorite song of all that has represented your country? And across Europe?
– Having in mind that I am a Eurovision fan, all of Serbian songs that had been elected throughout the years have been my favorites. It has never been a question of the performer, I always felt an obligation to cheer and be supportive.
– What is the story behind “Goodbye”, and what does it mean to you?
– “Goodbye” is a powerful song that tackles an important social issue which is women abuse, and it brings with itself a strong emotion. It also represents a victorious woman that can carry the burden and fight her way out of the claws of abuse. It is important for the message to come across and to raise the awareness.
– How are you going to stand out on the stage in Stockholm? What about your performance do you think will win the jury and the audience?
– The thing about my performance I think is the most representable, alongside my singing, is my unstoppable energy. I believe that no matter what kind of stage performance we decide to go with, we will keep the energy at the level where you can sense the emotion.
– Have you thought about what would be your performance? Do you want something special?
– The preparations are in order in the coming period, there will be an incredible team working on the subject, and there is no doubt in my mind that the final produce will be dazzling.
– Are you going to promote your song abroad?
– I believe so, there are some promotional trips we plan on doing. But the song has an impressive reach out already, and the reactions are more than positive. I truly believe this will be a good year.
– What is the plan for the coming months and the rest of 2016?
– Work, work and a lot of work. I don’t plan on stopping after the Eurovision is over. I still have to finish an album I have been preparing with my band ZAA, and who knows how many exciting new journeys are awaiting.
– What would you like to say to your Bulgarian fans?
– I would like to thank them for the undivided support, to stay true to the music, live life to the fullest, and yeah, vote for meeee. 😀
